Often you hear news that it is the FANS that make a show stay on the air. In rare cases that might actually be true, but when it comes down to it the studios and networks decide what is going to stay on the air or not perhaps in spite of ravenous fans.

But this one took me by surprise. Fan testimonials were to be included in the Season 3 DVD collection for Veronica Mars. And now they are not.

DVD Dosier says:

Warner Home Video has squashed plans to include video testimonials from fans for a forthcoming release of “Veronica Mars.”

Recently, there were reports on websites regarding an opportunity for “Veronica Mars” fans to submit videotaped testimonials to be included in a special feature on the upcoming “Veronica Mars: The Complete Third Season” DVD release.

Due to time constraints, this feature will not be included on the Season 3 DVD, and we are not accepting any submissions at this time nor do we have plans to use anything that was already submitted.

So it would seem that the fans get to feel the wrath of the cutting room floor and the feature is out.

I honestly don’t know that I would even have bothered to watch these testimonials when I pick up my copy of Season 3. But maybe they will put it on the Season 4 collection (If the series gets a season 4!)
