Firefly fans might not get to see any more of our favourite Browncoats on TV, but at least they will get their fill of Nathon Fillion in the new Fox pilot called Drive out this Sunday.
Gentleman (and ladies) start your engines because you are in for one hell of a ride. This Sunday at 8/7c Fox premieres it’s new thrilling new drama, DRIVE. I’ve seen an advanced screener of the first hour of the 2 hour premiere episode and let me tell you, it’s a lot of fun. DRIVE is like “The Amazing Race”..on crack.DRIVE follows “seemingly” random people in the race of their lives…and perhaps for their lives. The contestants are participating in an illegal, underground cross-country road race in which the winner will receive $32 million dollars. While some sought out the race after hearing of the prize, others were…let’s just say “persuaded” to participate.
Now this has a number of things all smashed into one great idea.
Cannonball Run turned serious, with an over all theme of The Amazing Race, and a dramatic spin like Lost or Heroes as we try to unravel the secrets its contestants will have.
That and aside from competing with each other, they get to attempt to do so against the law. With their own limitations, inhibitions and ambitions as their only weapons to succeed.
I am honestly looking forward to this. I already have it tagged on my PVR. (That’s Canadian talk for Tivo)

Looks promising.

I have my reservations about this show. Not so much because I think it’s going to suck, but rather Fox’s gnack for cancelling great shows. The show looks great and hopefully it will last long enough for us to enjoy it. Fox has pulled the plug on some of the best shows ever. Sunday night is a good night for the show. The only real competition being desperate housewives.

Saw it Friday night. Well done. Funny and great driving sequences. Filion’s story line carries the dramatic meat of the show and he ruled as usual. Also great to see Charles Martin Smith again!

I was disappointed by the first hour of the pilot but the second redeemed itself just a little. I’m willing to give it a few more episodes to pick up the pace. This might actually turn into Fillion’s ‘winner’!

Loved it. Third episode tonight was good especially when Fillion got his bad-ass car to drive. WooWee!

I watched the pilot and am looking forward to more episodes. I really enjoy the character interaction and definitely have my favourites.
My only concern is also FOX’s ability to mess up a show by juggling it around. I like the concept and really hope this works out.
