I do like The Office. Its some of Steve Carell’s finest work. I do like his movies but I dare say I like him better in this. That and Jenna Fischer (Pam) is downright adorable. So on top of the news that Office will be back next season, we get this little bit.
At NBC’s “upfront” presentation to advertisers on May 14, Zucker says he expects NBC to unveil five new programs — three dramas, one comedy, and one reality show — for its fall schedule. Zucker and Reilly are considering stretching The Office to an hour and canceling the original Law & Order.
An hour long? I don’t know if that would work. The show fits nicely into its 30 minute doses and runs its dry humour in nice little bits.
It works.
Will it work as a 60 minute show?
And have we seen enough of the original Law & Order?

The Office does a lot of extended shows for fun and for specials. I don’t think those shows lose anything. I love the Office so much and I would really like to see it go to an hour show. It could definitely do it and still mamtain the funny and dark humor. Other shows like My name is Earl wouldn’t work as well.

The original Law & Order lost a lot of its appeal about 5 seasons ago. It stopped being about gritty police and prosecutorial work and became all about the “ripped from the headlines” and “L&O twists”.

The Office is the best thing to happen to TV since Arrested Development.
Goddamn, I miss Arrested Development…RIP

This would be great. The Office is my absolute favorite show on TV. And you’re right about Jenna Fischer. She is downright HOT w/an adorable personality in the Leno and Conan O’Brien interviews I’ve seen. Amazing how they can make such a hot woman look so mousy on that show.
