This May, viewers received a glimmer into what will be Grey’s new spinoff Private Practice. We met the characters that Addison Montgomery will be working with on the new show, but already there has been cast changes.

The LA Times Writes

“Private Practice” is getting a new fertility specialist, even though 21.2 million “Grey’s Anatomy” viewers already met her original incarnation.

ABC Studios, which produces “Grey’s” and its fall spin-off, confirmed Friday that four-time Tony winner Audra McDonald has been hired to play Dr. Naomi Bennett, Dr. Addison Montgomery’s best college pal.

I’m not very sure why the change occurred or if it’s going to help the show and it’s dynamic. I personally did not care for the preview episode at all. It seemed boring and did not have the same mixture of fun that Grey’s Anatomy has. I’ve spoken with numerous people who agreed that they will not be watching the show in the fall. Do you think that the new cast member is going to help Private Practice? Or did you like the pilot?
