Entourage Season 4 Episode 4

After last week’s powerhouse episode of Entourage, I had to watch this week’s installment a couple of times to truly appreciate it. Here’s the lowdown from HBO.com

Eric has to give a Hollywood heavyweight some bad news. In the hopes of getting annexed to 90210, Drama takes the mayor of Beverly Hills out for a night on the town. Ari mishandles a top-secret script.

When we last left the boys, there was a decision to be made: sell Medellin to Harvey, or let Billy take it to Cannes. The decision’s been made, and Cannes it is! Now Eric is left with the unfortunate task of letting Harvey know that they’ve screwed him once again. In addition to this conflict, the tension continues to mount for Ari, who continues to struggle with the balance between family and career. And finally, Drama continues to struggle for validation as a star, and thinks being a resident of Beverly Hills will help his cause.

The Ari storyline was very entertaining, with a lot of trademark Ari Gold-isms and classic one-liners. However, the one thing that really stood out for me was Vince’s passiveness. I just found him to be apathetic in the resolution of the Medellin situation. In fact, I’ve noticed an ever-increasing apathy with Vince’s character. He just seems to be a puppet lately, pull the string and he’ll act in a movie, but there’s no heart. I haven’t seen any passion from him since he snagged Medellin. Perhaps a new project will snap him out of it. Anyone want to resurrect the Joey Ramone biopic?

Drama’s ballsiness at the end of the episode was priceless. I really enjoyed that he was the one to break the news to Harvey. Talk about hitting a man when he’s down; Drama sucker punched Harvey, who was already irate over a drink mix-up. Drama’s actions really made up for the fact that he picked out the only tranny in the crowd to hook up with Mr. Mayor.

Don’t get me wrong; this was a solid episode, with some great dialogue. But I had a lot of trouble getting past Vinnie’s aloofness. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens at Cannes.

  1. GODFATHER Said,

I just watched this episode (and went and watched the previous one afterwards). I gotta agree about the lack of enthusiasm from Vinnie towards Eric’s plight, but also while backing Walsh. There just doesn’t seem to be “life” in Adrien’s portrayal lately.

As for Eric, I totally see his financial ties to Medillein clouding his judgement. This season, it probably won’t affect his relationship with Vinnie, but I can see them revisiting this in future episodes.

Ari will always be King of the City. I’m also really loving Lloyd’s quibs and comebacks.

Drama’s a classic nervous wreck, and Turtle really should get laid more. That guy’s so wound up, a diamond’s gonna form in there. LOL

Hey Melissa, any idea if there’s a list of the end credit songs out there? There’s a couple I need to download… err, I mean buy. LOL

  2. Melissa Said,

If you go to HBO.com/entourage there is a “music credits” tab for each episode. You’ll find all the info there to complete your Entourage Mix Tape!
