Over on IGN.comGreg Daniels, executive producer of The Office, gave some insight about the upcoming season. Among the revelations:
• Although Rashida Jones (Karen) has a new series on FOX, she will be appearing in some of the upcoming season’s episodes.
• David Denman (Roy) is no longer a part of the cast.
• Melora Hardin (Jan) remains a regular cast member.
• Even though Ryan is now in a corporate position in New York, he will probably be more prominent then in seasons past.
• The season will be 30 episodes, which might be an opportunity to feature more of the supporting cast.
• It’s possible that Carol Burnett will be a guest star.
Wow. There are a couple big surprises there…okay, maybe not BIG surprises. But the way last season ended I really thought that might be the end of Jan. And it’s kind of sad that Roy is out (although Daniels did say that Roy isn’t dead…so there is a possibility he could come back). As for the Carol Burnett thing – a month or so ago when I went to an event featuring Leslie David Baker (Stanley), he mentioned that he had met Carol Burnett and she had told him she was a big Office fan and wanted to guest on the show. I don’t know, Carol Burnett is a legend but for some reason celebrity guest stars guest doesn’t feel right for The Office. Maybe she could guest on Family Guy.

Carol Burnett? What next..the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders? Maybe Isaac can set up bar inside the office!! Then when the show is over..we can decide who should take up politics?

Gads! My deepest apologies for my late reply…the new season begins September 27 @ 9:00. That seems such a long, long ways away.
