Ari receives Billy’s script for Vince’s next project, but Billy’s interpretation is vastly different from the adaptation he was commissioned to write. While Ari scrambles to keep the studio interested in the project, Eric is busy managing some domestic issues between his new client and her needy boyfriend.
I really think that Billy has gone from eccentric to complete and total lunatic! Yet no matter what he does, Vince has this blind faith in the writer/director’s abilities, and a bizarre sense of loyalty to a man who could have, at any point, completely ruined Vince’s career.
I was thrilled to see the return of Ari Gold: Superagent, the true hero of the day, taking a completely disastrous turn of events and spinning it into – well – GOLD! It’s always entertaining to see his interactions with Dana Gordon, and his vulgar musings about their past. He’s at his finest as an agent. He knows that his client’s career, and potentially his career, are in jeopardy, and breaks out the big guns, drive and manipulation, to get his way.
There’s been a noticeable strain in the Eric/Vince relationship, and it’s been even more evident since Eric landed a new client. Eric is MIA through the entire Lost in the Clouds/Silo crisis, and it brings up a couple of questions. When it comes right down to the dollars and cents, does Vince really need Eric? And will Eric be forced to choose between Anna Faris and Vince? There is potential for a rift between Eric and Vince, but as I mentioned before, Vince’s sense of loyalty to his friends is a big part of who he is, so even though it could get messy, in the end, I think friendship will win.
This is episode is definitely a turning point. Vince has seen the most career action of the season, we still don’t know what will happen with Medellin, and there’s the obvious attraction between Eric and his new client. With two episodes left in the season, anything could happen!

No sooner did our last NCIS article go up asking questions about how behind the scenes changes would affect the show when TV Guide posted articles on that very subject as part of their print and online coverage of the new fall season.
In general, NCIS seems to be a happy set. Scripts are now completed on time meaning that sets can be built and production can commence on time. Daily shooting has reduced from 16 hours a day to just 12 due to the new efficient management.
“This season feels different because, as you know, there’s been a change of administration. And I think it’s been a healthy one,” says David McCallum, the 73-year-old showbiz vet who plays medical examiner Donald “Ducky” Mallard. “Things are terrific [this season], We started at 7:30 this morning. Last year, we would have started at 7:30 tonight. There was always a certain degree of chaos, but it’s all gone now.”
Sounds a lot like good things are happening in Leroy Jethro Gibbs Land. In additional news, word is out that we may see Gibbs’ third wife in an October episode and a series recurring character will meet his/her fate around the same time.
I for one am stoked. Bring it on!

If you’ve been lucky enough to catch the latest promo floating around on FOX for Prison Break, surely you are as excited as I am.
Here’s a look at the latest promo:
I think this sets up an interesting and intriguing plot line that I myself never would have imagined. It seems really similar to that movie with all the people trapped on an island, in kind of a “last man standing” scenario.
Even out of Fox River, Michael continues to bring an edginess and awesomeness to the show, and I can’t wait to see how he gets out of this one.
Prison Break returns on September 17th.

With Supernatural’s third season premier coming closer it’s hard to not find casting rumors and episode synopsis. Although a semi-old interview with Eric Kripke (the creator of Supernatural), he talked about the two new female hunters that are going to be introduced in this season. I can’t help but post this for those of you who don’t know. This is part of an interview with Kripke about the new female hunters that will be introduced in season 3.
Is it true that the CW asked you to introduce the two new females?
Kripke: The real, honest answer is, we knew we were going to introduce one female character, Ruby. And Dawn [Ostroff] said, ‘Could you introduce two female characters.’ We said, ‘We’ve got this great female character — the Bela character — who we already had written a script for, who we love. And who we were going to bring back anyway. Let’s make her a regular.’ So, it was not thrust upon us. We were already introducing one. She wanted us to introduce two. And it’s of the producers’ own volition. We are not turning into One Tree Hill with monsters — I swear. I’d rather put a gun in my mouth. I understand everyone is nervous, but if they just hang in there, and watch the episodes, and watch how it turns out… we have not lost our head. We’re delivering what we feel is the best season of Supernatural yet.
Back in season 2 when I heard that they were bringing in a “love interest” for Dean Winchester I wasn’t very happy. I was sure that they were going to mess up introducing the new “love interest” and hurt the show by trying to make the match work. Luckily, they didn’t force the two characters together (like so many shows that I have seen ruining the show or at least parts of the show for me) and in the end the female character became more like a little sister to the boys then a love interest.
Now when I heard that the boys were getting two new “love interests” for the third season of Supernatural, I wasn’t very happy. I was a bit scared that they would mess it up like they did in season 2, but after reading what Kripke has to say about the characters I have started to like them. Granted I’m still a little reserved and a bit nervous, but it seems like Kripke is learning from his mistakes and is doing his best not to repeat them. I think Kripke is one of those few people in the movie/TV show business who is actually trying to listen to the fans of his show.
With this in mind, have is there a show that you have seen that either almost ruined or was ruined because a character (be it main or recurring) hooks up with another character essentially ruining the show for you?

Today was spent in its very entirety in Geek Heaven aka Toronto Fan Expo 2007.
My wife and I made the early trek out to the Metro Toronto Convention Center, paid more money for breakfast than can ever be concieved as reasonable (yet very yummy) and dove head first into the Fan Expo crowds. We met some wonderful people and hopefully forged some solid relationships.
We interviewed a few people and I performed my duties of “cameraman” for John and Serena over at
The Movie Blog and managed to get a PILE of pictures of the celebrity guests, including the VERY hot and very charming Tricia Helfer (Six from Battlestar Galactica) Tricia was one of the “special guests” you had to pay extra to even get an audience with, but we managed to work our magic and were blessed with her distracting presence anyways.
The rest of my Con Report is going to have to wait until tomorrow. I have a couple interviews to attend and will be posting all sorts of information about my experiences there later tomorrow.
The stuff may include but not be limited to: Celebrity Pictures, Cosplay pictures, ReBoot news, Heroes news, and Space news!
Right now I have to sleep.
Oh, and in case you guys are reading this, Hi Gavin (ReBoot), Allison from Space, Natasha and Jon (Hypaspace) and the gang at Rainmaker Animation and Zeroes2 to Heroes.com. It was wonderful meeting you guys and hope to talk again soon!

TVGuide.com’s Micheal Ausiello had this to say in his weekly column.
Love was always a little hit-or-miss with me, but these last seven episodes have made me a believer. Easily the best show of the summer.
And can we just take a moment to bask in the awesomeness that is Ginnifer Goodwin? That girl is acting her ass off this season. I’ve already reserved a spot on our 2008 Dream Emmy Ballot for her. Ditto GraceZabriskie, who brings such joy to my life I almost want to hand her a wad of cash every time her nutzilla alter ego shows up on my screen.
Ditto I say! Ginnifer (Margene) and Grace (Lois) are absolutely unbelievable this season. I dare to say that there has been no better acting on television this entire year. Although, I think that it is too much to hope that Love will get any Emmy ‘love’ this year.
The show is so smart, and the acting is so superb, it is a shame that it’ll probably go unrecognized.
Do you love Margene and Lois as much as I do? You have to agree they steal the show whenever they are on screen. What are Margene’s chances at an Emmy? Does she deserve it?

With the new season of dexter starting up in september it’s most likely a good idea you go out and get the first season of Dexter. As we all know Dexter was the best new series of last year, Dexter is CSI meets American Psycho how could you miss!
With so many big cable network series finishing up as of late it’s good to see some fresh blood on the scene.(pun intended) Dexter is smart show full of great actors with some great dark comedy moments and it’s not to be missed.

The New York Television Festival and ABC have announced that Pushing Daisies will
will show the pilot episode of Pushing Daises at the festival on Saturday, September 6th.
The NYTVF seeks to celebrate innovative new programming with a unique vision, and Pushing Daisies’ is a prime example,” said NYTVF founder Terence Gray. “There are few shows that have garnered as much buzz going into the new fall season, and we are thrilled to introduce this amazing new series to New York audiences
The buzz I’ve been reading around the Internet regarding Pushing Daisies is very positive. I’m hoping this preview viewing will only continue to generate more good word of mouth. After all, good word of mouth will mean more viewers, which means this quirky show might last an entire season. Personally I’m excited and am anticipating the season premiere. What about you? Is this one of the new fall shows on your list?

Yes, it’s been awhile that I reported on ‘The Dead Zone’, but let me honest why I haven’t for the last few weeks. Ever since the knocking off of Walt Bannerman (Chris Bruno) and the reccurring character of Anna Turner (Cara Buono), the series, I feel, has lost some of the luster.
However, there has been development on the John Smith/ Sarah angle during the last few weeks, and now, a new, yet familiar face, Vice Prez Greg Stillson (Sean Patrick Flanery) has shown up again, and very well could be the new man in Sarah’s life.
This will continue in the upcoming new episode “Exile”, but there is also the guest star of Jennifer
Finnigan- who played psychic Alex in season 4. I’m sort of hoping that someone is set up for John Smith’s love interest OTHER than Sarah. See, when a fella is with a lady, gets into a coma, comes out, finds she’s hitched and her son is his…then she gets a bun in the oven by her new hubby and hubby dies and then the psychic dude…you get it right? Comp-li-cated.
In related news…Anthony Micheal Hall is a real busy body these days. I hear doing some movie…speculations about his character in that movie…?
Hall’s character plays an investigative TV reporter for the GCN, which was photographed on Aug. 19. The scene shot that day, which is about three-fourths of the way into the film, goes like so.
Hall’s character is intensely jealous of Bruce Wayne. He even has an exactly matching Lamborghini Murcielago.
The character learns of Bruce Wayne’s true identity as Batman and plans to use the GCN to blow the whistle on him..Hall’s is character not a villain but is an antagonist.
That’s nice, but I really hope to heck it’s a rumor/false information regarding Hall’s character.
How many times have we seen reporters ‘discover’ alternate lives?

What do a Pro Wrestler, a Lunch Lady, a Chicken Farmer, a Grave Digger, and a Pro Poker Player have in common? No, there not all people I’d rather be. Well, some are I guess. They are all contestants on the newest installment of Survivor, Survivor: China which begins Sept. 20 on CBS.
Who’s the favorite at this point? I’m a mild wrestling fan and it’d be neat to see Ashley the wrestler win but she’ll get voted off right away because everyone will think she’s already rich. Same goes for the Poker Player. I’ll check out all of the individual profile videos on CBS.com and get back to you with my official pre-season pick.
Also, I do think China is an interesting place to have Survivor. CBS is playing up the angle that it’s historic to be taping a television show in China. That might very well be but that really doesn’t mean much to me. It just sounds like a different type of place to host it. I’m still waiting for the cold weather version.
The Online Testing Exchange (OTX) has recently listed their top shows according to TV Dailies, OTX’s syndicated service that polls viewers for awareness and popularity of upcoming shows for the new season. The service polls over 3000 viewers in the 13-64 age range, with the most recent results falling in the 18-49 demographic - a key component to attracting advertisers to particular shows.
While high profile shows, like Bionic Woman, Pushing Daisies, and Cavemen topped the list, Reaper coasted in to tie for the top place on two key lists: Top 10 New Shows based on Awareness and Top Five New Shows Most Likely to Watch. Interestingly enough, it is the only show on the whole CW schedule to place this high - a remarkable feat for a new show on a relatively new network.
The major media push for Reaper hasn’t started yet, so this buzz must be coming from the leaked Pilot that made it onto Bittorrent a few months back. Since this data was polled in the beginning of August, the show’s panel at Comic-Con (while impressive) could not have had an influence. If Reaper turns out to be a hit (and from the looks of the pilot, “confidence is high”) could this mean some solid footing for the concept of studios “leaking” their pilots to drum up support and tweak shows before they even air officially?
It’s a marketing strategy that won’t serve for all new shows, but those that are highly dependent on Geek Support? Sure. I could see more of this kind of thing happening…

If you didn’t watch the Children In Need Special on your Series 2 DVDs go watch it right now. These short little ten minute mini-episodes connect Series 1 to 2, and apparently there is one coming to join Series 3 and 4.
And this time, it includes a meeting of the Doctors! Well two of them.
The Sun, a UK periodical, who has previously suggested Ben Kingsley will be appearing in Series 4, and started casting rumors for Tennant’s replacement, as well as revealing that Joan Collins (wtf?!) will be showing up as well, have now come out and claimed that this year’s Doctor Who bit for their Children In Need special will feature Tennant’s Doctor meeting up with a former self…Peter Davison’s Doctor.
“The Doctor is forever travelling though time so there’s no reason why he couldn’t catch up with a former incarnation. Peter was top of the writer’s list to make a comeback.”
While I think this would be cool, something involving more than one Doctor’s regeneration needs to be spaced over the course of an episode or two, not relegated to a tiny 10 minute blurb.
What do you guys think?

Although details of the casting are few and far between at this point, what I can tell you is this: 1) Come fall, she’ll be a regular, 2) her character will be an FBI agent, and 3) since the comedienne’s persona often brings to mind Mary Lynn Rajskub’s prickly Chloe, the potential for on-screen fireworks is greater than it has been during any of the show’s previous bomb threats.
Now I don’t find this as far fetched an idea as Ausiello seems to think it is. Garofalo was, after all, on 15 episodes of the political drama The West Wing as the media strategist Louise Thornton. Why not an FBI agent on 24? After a disappointing sixth season, and storyline troubles for the seventh season delaying the filming schedule, can casting someone like Garofalo help 24 return to its former glory? I know I’ll be giving it another chance. At the very least, the potential on-screen tension between Rajskub’s Chloe and Garofalo’s character will be entertaining to watch!

It’s about time! I’ve been waiting for prime time to steal amnesia from daytime soaps for YEARS. So, in my excitement I’ve gone straight to the candy shop that we call the internet and coated myself in the sweet milk chocolate that we call Samantha Who?
If you could start over, would you do things differently? Could you do them differently? Can people change? Or are we just… who we are? These are the questions our heroine asks, as she begins the long, comic process of starting over from scratch — fixing old mistakes, reconnecting with her not-so-loving family and rediscovering love. While friends yank her in different moral directions… afraid of the “old Sam” returning…”
I can only think of one thing after reading this; how long can this last? But then my “Sitcom Third Eye” opens up. If this show makes it through it’s first season, there will probably be an episode where she somehow regains her memory, and it’s going to take the combined efforts of her friends and family to knock her on the head hard enough for her memory to go away again. Mark my words. This show has the feels like a more grown up version of a show on TGIF from years past, and believe me, if you like sitcoms, that’s a good thing.
Don’t shove this show to the side, I mean look at shows like Ugly Betty, that show looked like garbage, ended up getting 2 Golden Globes. Just remember, TV is different than movies, most of the time the commercials for a new series make it look awful when it’s pretty good. I remember LOST looked terrible! Go ahead and check out ABC’s site for some early clips, they definitely get me excited, I love wacky sitcoms!

NBC has decided not to wait for people to leak or pirate their new shows, but instead give them to saavy fans early, according to TVGuide.com says:
In an arrangement touted as “unprecedented in terms of its scope and participation,” all four of NBC’s freshman series — Chuck, Bionic Woman, Journeyman and Life — are being made available early, starting Sept. 10, as free video-on-demand offerings via Comcast, Time Warner, Cox, Charter and other major cable operators, Variety reports.
Chuck isn’t due to premiere on TV until September 24th, as the lead-in to the second season of Heroes. Last year, a few tv shows offered their pilot episodes up for downloading on iTunes for free, but usually only a few days within their premiere date. I think it’s a great development, and NBC certainly seems to be thinking about ways to make people talk about their shows. There’s a lot of press lately about how to protect content from being leaked onto the internet, and one way to prevent “leaks” is to deliver the show yourself.
There’s a lot of talk about Chuck, and it’s been called one of the most anticipated shows of this coming season. Is giving us the pilot early going to whip the fans into a frenzy, or end up being a buzz kill?
With two weeks to get to know this episode, are people going to still be happy to tune in to episode two?

One of the main plot points of My Name is Earl is his list of bad things he did in the past. The list came about after Earl (Jason Lee) wins the lottery, and a car immediately hits him. While in the hospital, he decides that Karma is telling him to shape up. Earl takes stock of his life by recording all the wrongs he committed in the past. Each episode usually sees Earl making amends for one of the items on his list. As he says in the credits, “I’m just trying to be a better person”.
Wikipedia has a somewhat complete list. I think my favorites are:
Gave Joy 236 bladder infections (#154)
Had garage sale while house-sitting for neighbors (#147, #142)
Told Joy that Bruce Willis was a ghost (#152)
Honestly, how can you give someone 236 bladder infections?
I like to believe in Karma, the whole ‘what goes around, comes around’ makes sense. I especially believe in driving Karma, if you don’t let people over, you will never get to merge!
So what do you think about Karma?

This week, Big Love comes to us a day early. The penultimate episode for season 2 was another solid episode packed with nearly every storyline possible.
This week, Bill makes Alby a tempting offer in the wake of Nicki’s disclosure about Weber Gaming. Barb learns that her mother Nancy is getting remarried, and decides to use the occasion to try to make peace with her estranged family–and provide traditional guidance to Ben.
Potential Spoilers
What hit me about this episode was the way they completely took you 180 degrees from where they’ve been leading you. Sara warming up to the idea of being in a plural relationship, going as far as asking Nicki for advice. I loved Nicki’s response; basically telling Sara to become a tease. Although Sara’s speech to Bill was cold and unexpected. I felt sorry for Bill, I couldn’t imagine hearing such hurtful words from my daughter.
They built the tension for the confrontation at the wedding very well.
I felt every inch of tension in those scenes, as much as dreading the outcome myself. Everything this season has led me to believe that Barb would leave the family if she was confronted with it. Now, with Margene changing her tune from not staying in the marriage without Barb, to “just let her leave”, I was sure that they were setting up for her to tell her mother she was leaving. But instead, she admitted that she is in the marriage for herself, not Bill.
I will admit, not knowing much if anything about Mormonism, much of the conversations in the driveway at the wedding confused me. I was unable to interpret what Barb and her mother meant when they were speaking to each other at the end (the symbolism, not the words). It was her “final test”, but test for what? For salvation? For her marriage? Either way, Ellen Burstyn was excellent as Barb’s mother, and I hope we see more of her next season.
This season ending tragedy is gearing up to make last year’s BeeHive incident seem very tame. Bill’s made of mess of his family and his business. Can it get any worse?

Ahh, fall. That time of year when the first winds from the north make one’s heart leap in anticipation…of the new TV season!
It is also the time when we faithful and loyal viewers await to see if the inevitable changes made during the off season will affect our favorite shows for the better or mark the beginning of their demise. The case can be made that this is the situation NCIS (known affectionately around here as the Leroy Jethro Gibbs Show) finds itself and loyal fans have a great deal to be concerned about.
In a much publicized war of wills at the end of last season, NCIS producer and co-creator Donald P. Bellasario stepped down from his perch after show star Mark Harmon threatened not to return for a fifth season. Harmon openly complained (to anyone who would listen) about Bellasario’s muddled and frustrating management style and refused to work under those conditions any further. Bellasario had much the same reputation on his previous series JAG and had come close to losing star David James Elliot on that one. It is unclear what precipitated the resolution, whether CBS forced the issue of keeping Harmon at all costs or whether Bellasario simply tired of the consternation and decided to move on.
Harmon is a known commodity and is the public face of NCIS. The effect of losing him is unknown in the long run but there would definitely be a shift in viewership if he were to have left. The impact of Bellasario’s leaving is harder to predict. Bellasario has a long history of building shows that command fierce fan loyalty from the ground up (Quantum Leap and the aforementioned JAG.) How much of NCIS is a reflection of Bellasario’s direct control and can the staff he has built carry on? I, for one, will be watching the early episodes for a change in direction…and hoping not to find one.
Stay tuned!

One of the most interesting and fascinating things on my favourite TV Show Heroes, is the character of Sylar. He is just so ruthlessly evil and self serving, and then at the end of last season, in a rare moment of Sylar’s regret I almost found myself LIKING him. Or maybe I just like Zachary Quinto. So of course when I heard that he was cast as the younger counterpart to Spock, my own ears were peaked with interest. Today I found a clip online showing the two of them in a short interview on USA Today.
Quinto and Nimoy have become fast friends since meeting briefly at San Diego’s Comic-Con sci-fi convention last month. They had more time to connect during a recent tour of the Griffith Observatory. That led to Nimoy inviting Quinto to his home for dinner.
Though there is speculation about how Abrams will make use of both Spocks in the film, no one is talking. “I honestly … can’t say,” Quinto, 30, says during lunch at the observatory’s cafe after bidding farewell to Nimoy.
But perhaps a tiny clue is revealed. “I think there’s going to be a sense of guidance through this film and beyond,” he says. In Nimoy, 76, Quinto has found a father figure of sorts.
Such a unique meeting of characters seeing the iconic Dr Spock meeting with his younger self, and as Nimoy says, the two of them certainly do have a similar look.
I was already excited about the new Star Trek film (mostly because its going to be something NEW) and with people like Quinto on board, I can’t help but love the idea!

It seems like Kristen Bell is the new IT girl for TV. Right on the heels of rumours that she was being cast in Lost we now get news that my favourite blue eyed belle will be involved in a story arc on HEROES!
Peacock has snagged Bell for a key multiepisode arc of its sophomore sensation. Casting is a major coup for NBC since Bell — who plays the title character in Judd Apatow’s upcoming “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” — was reportedly being sought for several TV gigs, including a part on ABC’s “Lost.”
Bell will make her first “Heroes” appearance in October. She’ll play Elle, a character described as a sexy, mysterious young lady who has ties to … Peter, H.R.G.’s past and the future of Claire. Elle will kick off her arc by committing a serious crime, though it’s unclear whether she’s good or bad.
Now this is the best news I have heard so far about Bell. I have myself a little TV crush on Kristen and I was heartily disappointed when Veronica Mars was cancelled. It looked for a while like her role as the narrator on Gossip Girl would be the only taste we would get.
But combine her role in Fanboys (something I am also excited about) and an appearance on my favourite TV Show Heroes, I am in geek heaven and Kristen Bell is my tour guide!
