Season two of Supernatural wasn’t that bad but it did have a little bit of a difference compared to season 1. Season three of Supernatural is going to return to the linear, single mythology structure of season 1.
BuddyTV offers:
In a talk with Sci Fi Wire, Kripke indicated that he was excited to get back into a single arc. “There’s so much we’re paying off,” he said. “I feel the mythology was great in season one. I think the stand-alones were great in season two. But I think the mythology of season two was just okay. It was too complicated. It wasn’t as visceral as ‘find dad.’ And in season three we’re back to a really visceral mythology, which is ‘It’s war, what do we do?’ And so we’re really excited about that mythology, and we feel, again, it’s going to be the most exciting season yet.’ Kripke said.
I enjoyed season 2 a lot but found that I started to miss the whole one single mythology structure. Yes, the Yellow-Eyed Demon had a major part of the show but it didn’t seem like the boys were really going after him until the end of the season two. It almost seemed as if Kripke was trying to do to add to many “cool” things to the show. I’m happy to hear this news and I’m guessing that it might start out slow but it seems like this is going to be a very good season. What do you guys think? Did you find season two better than season one?

I enjoyed both seasons but I’m glad they’re getting back to what they did in season 1. Season 2 was different, but not a bad different.
Dannylion- I was more impressed with S1 than S2, particularly the great Kansas intro in Salvation- very cool to take the music video-y series and make an actual music video.
And the whole thing with the bar and the underage Dean lust was too weird though I really appreciate Samantha Ferris (ellen) everytime I see her. I hope they bring her back some for S3. Thanks for your great posts!
