<description>I agree that it takes a while to get to know the cast and for certain players to stick out, but this cast didn't make a great first impression in last week's premiere. There are already several annoying players.

I was also getting a little tired of Exile Island, but I do miss the racial diversity of the past two seasons. Hopefully there are some interesting twists and turns still to come, because so far, I don't have huge hopes for this season.

<description>The Survivor formula is still alive and well. Ratings will steadily rise throughout the season and while lower than the previous years, it will still garner CBS the ratings it needs to renew it for another year. It has become a safe bet for the network. Us "die hards" always start off skeptical but tolerant and we always tune in each week. The problem is that we truly won't know the potential of the show until midway through the season when the current cast produces it's breakout member. For all his annoyances, "Chicken" stood a real chance of being a fun person to watch, but now we'll never know. I see a lot of promise in this years lineup.
