The man known as the erratic and deranged writer/director Billy Walsh on Entourage, actor Rhys Coiro, will be trading in Hollywood for Washington DC. In his next role, he joins the FBI as Sean Hillinger on Season 7 of 24. Here’s what HBO.com had to say about Coiro:
Rhys Coiro (’Entourage’) is donning a suit instead of battling one in his next small screen role. He’ll be playing an FBI staffer on the next season of ‘24.’ If Billy Walsh’s mercurial directing career crashes and burns, Coiro may be able to at least save the world — or at least Jack Bauer.
Coiro’s saying goodbye to talent agent Ari Gold, and will be working alongside Janeane Garofalo’s FBI agent Janis Gold. Does this mean the end of Billy Walsh? Or would you like to see him back on the red carpet with Vincent Chase?

Of course, by now the Writer’s Strike has come and gone, but we all know that new shows are all backed up for 2008.
Entourage will not begin filming until end of March or Early April and will not return to HBO until Fall 2008 (which could be Sept or Oct 2008).
With 24 not coming back now until 2009, I wonder how this will impact Rhy Coiro and his alter-ego Billy Walsh.
Let’s hope Doug Ellin and his writing staff have used this strike to surf the web and pick up some ideas from the fans.
With all the ideas posted here, they should be able to go into production soon
