The official Doctor Who site has posted the revelation that the Doctor and Donna will be traveling back to Pompeii on the eve of it’s destruction by Mount Vesuvius and debate on whether or not to warn the inhabitants.

Russell T Davis, the showrunner, says,

“Donna is stunned to find herself in the midst of history’s most famous volcanic eruption. Viewers can expect many more ambitious storylines and a whole host of guest stars in 2008.”

Filming of the episode was ambitious, involving a production relocation to Rome itself to the Cinecitta Studios there.

Sounds like Series 4 is shaping up nicely! Who am I kidding? I’m gonna watch it regardless!
