Moonlight was doing fairly well in the ratings until last Friday, October 12, when Women’s Murder Club premiered on ABC. According to USA today, the Nielsen ratings show that Women’s Murder Club sent Moonlight to a series low in the ratings.
USA Today reports that:
“The premiere of ABC’s Women’s Murder Club Friday killed the competition with 10.8 million viewers, sending NBC’s Friday Night Lights to 5.5 million, down 14% from last week’s return, and CBS’ Moonlight to a series-low 7.1 million.”
I’m a bit worried about this because, although I think that last night’s episode was the best one so far, I fear that Moonlight won’t be able to compete against Women’s Murder Club. It seems that the later will bring in more viewers because it appeals to more types of people (the success of shows such as CSI and Law & Order proves that people in this country love detective shows like this). Hopefully, Moonlight will be able to compete, because I think that it’s getting better every episode, especially now that Mick is no longer hiding his identity from Beth.
Does anybody else think that Moonlight is getting better every week?
