The Southern California wildfires have shut down production on a few television shows that were filming in the area, including 24. Here’s what Eonline.com had to report:
On both Monday and Tuesday, Kiefer Sutherland and his 24 cohorts were scheduled to film location scenes at the Marine Corps Air Station El Toro near the Orange County city of Irvine. However, at just 7:30 a.m. Monday, after Sutherland, fellow cast members and the crew had arrived at the base, producers canceled the day’s production, citing health concerns for the assembled workers.
Cast and crew were affected by breathing difficulties and blurred vision due to the smoke in the air. They were able to move production to a soundstage to film other scenes, but in comparison to what others have lost in the fires so far, 24 only had to sacrifice 5 hours of work, and will have to reschedule what was to be a two-day shoot. This is just another snag in the production of 24’s “Day 7”, from scrapped storylines to delays. I’m sure you’re wondering if these numerous setbacks are an indication of what the future holds for 24. Will they shake the bad luck, and have a successful season? We’ll have to wait just over a few months to see the results.
