Amidst this seasons resurgence in the quality of its scripts as well as its solid ratings on a tough Friday night schedule, NUMB3RS is about to make itself even more popular, this time with fans of Veronica Mars! Rodney passed me a note about a future NUMB3RS story arc reported by Michael Ausiello on his TVGuide Blog:

Veronica Mars’ Dad + CBS = Numb3rs! Veronica Mars’ much-missed Enrico Colantoni is returning to the tube with a major guest stint on CBS’ Numb3rs, sources confirm to me exclusively. The role shouldn’t be much of a stretch for the actor formerly known as Det. Mars: He’s playing a surveillance specialist who takes a hostage when he suspects that someone has been spying on him. The episode — slated to air in mid-December — is currently in production and, therefore, wouldn’t be a victim of the strike.

Finally, a ray of sunshine in the middle of the generally depressing strike news. NUMB3Rs airs Fridays at 10pm on CBS.
