Optimus Prime is blasting back onto television this week, according to Spielberg Films.

There’s more than meets the eye when Cartoon Network premieres a 90-minute feature presentation of “Transformers Animated” Special: “Transform and Roll Out” on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007 at 8 p.m. EST.The adventure begins when Optimus Prime and his small crew of Autobots come into possession of the Allspark, a powerful Cybertronian artifact that attracts the attention of their long-forgotten enemies, the Decepticons, and sends them crashing to a strange and distant planet known as Earth.

This, of course, is an early taste of the cartoon series that will start running in January. I’m still not sold on the look. It looks like that Godzilla cartoon they made a few years ago. While something tells me this show will never live up to the original series, or the recent film, I think it’s still worth checking out.
