Typically we try to avoid the whole celebrity gossip bit here at the TVShow Blog but this bit of recent scandal has left the future of the Tween hit Zoey 101in limbo as its 16 year old star has found herself unwed and pregnant. Hardly the rolemodel Nickeloeon would want for one of its highest rated shows.
Nickelodeon has not yet commented on its plans for Zoey, beyond issuing a statement saying the network respects the star’s “decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation.”However, in the wake of Spears’ announcement, the network confirmed it is in discussions on a special for its young viewers about sex and love.
So in an effort to maintain the show it looks like they will make an effort of damage control to have little Miss Spears waddle her baby bump in front of the lens for a Public Service Announcement.
It sounds more to me like a community service sentence as part of a plea bargain to avoid the further penalty of having her squeaky clean image on Zoey 101 tarnished.

The tabloids are saying the show has been officially canned, but if they have the whole last season finished and ready to air, I can’t imagine them not airing it or releasing it somehow.
I’m sure the suits at the network are very, very unhappy with this situation.
