It looks like the midseason has officially kicked off for me. My wife dragged me into watching One Tree Hill and I am man enough to admit that I am totally sucked into this show.

One thing I really like is that they are taking a step to avoid the shark. Most of these teen highschool dramas that last to the end of highschool make the mistake of trying to carry the story over into the college years. Tree Hill seems to have avoided that bullet. It is a death sentence.

Now One Tree Hill cannot take ALL the credit for this move. This was to be the one saving grace for Veronica Mars, which the CW passed on. But they saw the wisdom of the skip ahead and applied it to a different show.

Its not all sunshine and peaches for the Tree Hill gang, and I am happy to say that they are glossing over the adult cast of the previous season. That is important since they are establishing this as an adult drama now. The cast are adjusting to being adults.

Now that it is an adult drama, I don’t feel so shy about admitting I watch it.
