Even if you’re alone on Valentine’s Day, sometimes it’s fun to kick back and watch your favorite couple. The interesting thing is, on television, usually they aren’t actually a couple. Witness

The list was made up from viewer votes, and I think it seems pretty clear. Viewers enjoy the chase, and the unresolved tension. It’s something that has been talked about for years (since Moonlighting, I’d wager) but for some reason shows keep messing it up.

My favorite TV couple is actually from a canceled show, and one that I’d never want to see actually as a couple on screen: O’Neill and Carter from Stargate: SG-1. Recently I’ve also been going back to another unrequited favorite, Marcus Cole and Susan Ivanova from Babylon 5.
