For years now, I have defended The Simpsons against it’s haters. It’s been getting harder these past few seasons. I have been defending against those who have preached to me that “Family Guy is way better than the Simpsons!”
I don’t think so. Not in my opinion.
While I have enjoyed Family Guy. I do think it’s funny, and while I have found the more recent seasons of the Simpsons to be sloppily unbalanced, I do find that The Simpsons with it’s many, many, MANY good seasons, is far superior. And here’s why:
-Family Guy crams too much jokes into one episode. I don’t mind a joke overload here and there, but I find a lot of the jokes fall flat.
-The Simpsons has heart. Family Guy doesn’t.
-While the latter seasons have slipped on this part, the Simpsons always had room for the story.
-I know this sounds silly, but characters on The Simpsons have depth. There’s more to these guys than just slapstick humor.
-Family Guy is the same joke over and over again. Brian will say something like “Like the time you joined the Super Friends.” And the scene will cut to Peter doing something stupid at the Super Friends hideout.
These are my big reasons for preferring The Simpsons to Family Guy, but I want to know, in your honest opinion, which one is the champ of primetime cartoon comedy: The Simpsons or Family Guy?

Simpsons all the way. I was never able to get into Family Guy, no matter how many times I try.
The Family Guy is better… Simpson’s is a rip-off of most of the episodes/jokes!
Oh wait… That’s the other way around! LOL… Come on. Can people seriously defend Family Guy? It’s like comparing WWE wrestling (fake) with an actual MMA (real) style of fighting. One is WAY better than the other. Simpson’s rules this battle.
(Please note, I am not saying that the Simpson’s is real. It’s a metaphor.)
I was once a lover of both Simpson’s and Family Guy, but now i hate them both. I have completely stopped watching them, Simpson’s has continued slowly but surely to get worse with every season, its now to the point if i catch an episode it makes me regret watching it. I wonder how anyone even stands to watch this garbage, The jokes are not funny, and the usual gags have gotten so cliche and over used that it makes me wonder how the hell it hasn’t been canceled yet, Simpson’s hit its peak well over 7 years ago, time to put it to rest. Family Guy’s old episodes were fresh, new well thought out jokes and were hilarious. But now in just a few short years it has gotten progressively worse, not to mention all the stolen ideas from Simpson’s. They need to either take it into a whole new direction or close up shop. But if i have to chose out of family guy or Simpson’s which one is better i would have to chose Futurama. lol
Simpsons all the way, No Doubt!! I love all the charcters from the Simpsons and I only like Stewie and Brain from Family Guy!! The Simpsons have heart which I like. Family Guy is just crude!!
I still absolutely love The Simpsons, I never got into Family Guy at all. I just think that Family Guy has too many crude jokes thrown in to try and make it try and be funny. At least you know where you stand with The Simpsons. I know the seasons aren’t the greatest anymore for The Simpsons but I just think the quality is far superior, the characters are better, etc…
I’ve watched The Simpsons when it first came on the air and I’ll continue to watch till they are taken off the air. I could care less about Family Guy, in my opinion it should have stayed dead.
Ive never found either funny. South Park beats them all.

Na, I actually find South PArk, Family Guy, and The Simpson the same too me. All three make me piss my pants. I honestly cant not decide which i like better. I guess, if i was forced to choose which one i would want to watch. It would be family guy.
The Simpsons hands down.
Having grown up watching the simpson’s all my life it’s gonna sound bias of me to say The Simpsons are better. They where first, they had heart ( which only King of The Hill has been able to implement succesfully into its show since )and they where just smarter and funnier. The Simpsons have a wide range of memorable characters,better story lines and funnnier jokes. All Family Guy is alot of flashback stuff and crude humor. Don’t get me wrong tho, I do enjoy Family Guy. I just don’t think they’ll ever reach the level of success The Simpsons have. It’s not there fault The Simpsons have done it all, they have been around 18 years, with zero cancelled seasons.
