“Sanctuary” changing for SciFi
“Sanctuary” graduated from an independent web production to Sci Fi Channel series. According to star Amanda Tapping, it’s also going through changes as it makes the move. SliceOfSciFi has:
“The fact is it’s already evolving,” Tapping said in an interview at SCI FI’s upfronts last week. “Our pilot that we’re now going to start shooting is very different from what you’ve seen on the Web. But [Magnus] is still this crazy character. She’s 157 years old, and she’s very eccentric and very sexy and very unapologetic. I love it.”
I have mixed feelings about this. There have been many instances of stories changing so much when they move mediums that they loose what made them special in the first place. But I admit that changes need to be made for “Sanctuary” to be viable on SciFi Channel. Hopefully the original creators have complete control over the changes and can keep the vision intact.
