“Band of Brothers” is, and will always be considered one of the greatest mini-series ever to grace the small screen. The DVD set has been available for awhile, but watching it in HD on HBO has made the series even grander. TVShowsOnDVD has speculation that Brothers will be getting the HD treatment via an interview conducted by Home Media Magazine:

Band of Brothers is No. 6 on the all-time TV DVD top-sellers list in terms of units sold, and No. 4 in the season-set category, according to Nielsen VideoScan, and is among the top TV DVD revenue generators as well. Chang said a Blu-ray version of Band of Brothers is in the works for later this year.

I missed “Band of Brothers” when it first debuted, and never bought the DVDs. I caught it about 2 years ago when HBO HD re-ran the entire series. It was beautiful in HD and the only reason I haven’t bought the DVDs is because I didn’t want to loose the HD experience. This Blu-Ray release is on my watch list.
