“Knight Rider” new show a go

NBC has announced plans to develop a new “Knight Rider” series following the February TV movie. Variety has the story:

Many of the series in contention for the Peacock lineup boast a fantasy or action element, including one show just added to NBC’s 2008-09 roster: “Knight Rider,” the Doug Liman-produced actioner whose two-hour backdoor pilot snagged solid ratings in February. Project has been given an episodic order and has been mentioned as a contender for a Friday night timeslot.

The TV movie had its problems, but still had potential. There are 2 ways this can go…”Bionic Woman” or “Battlestar Galactica”. Both shows had problem filled starts. One became a classic (BSG), and the other (Woman) is better left forgotten. Here’s hoping “Knight Rider” follows the former.

What adjustments do you think NBC has to make to allow “Knight Rider” to be successful?
