A new member is joining the cast of the Terminator TV series for it’s sophomore season.The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop.

Garbage lead singer Shirley Manson is venturing into acting in a big way with a regular role next season on Fox’s “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.”
On “Sarah Connor,” produced by Warner Bros. TV, Scottish musician Manson will play Catherine Weaver, the CEO of a cutting-edge high-tech company

When I first read this story a few moments ago, the first thing that popped in my mind was “but she’s a non-actor.” I’m not the biggest fan of non-actors taking up acting. Even though, I haven’t seen her try to act before, that’s exactly what troubles me: I haven’t seen her act before!

 She is in a movie called ItW, that is apparently in production for this year, but other than that, as far as film and television goes, she’s only been credited for music related stuff.

Maybe’s she’s not playing a pivitol character or maybe this girl has acting chops just dying to bust out of her. I admit, that several musicians have made the switch from singing to acting and done perfectly well for themselves.

Although, to be quite honest, I still haven’t gotten into this show. To me, it just didn’t feel like The Terminator, and I never quite eased up on the new Sarah Conner. But maybe this new season will change my mind?
