Mostly becaues I grew up with this stuff and also because I now have kids that are totally into the show, I am a HUGE fan of Transformers. Needless to say the movie next week has got me all worked up in a geekfroth wrapped in awesome.
So when I heard that Cartoon Network is returning to the Transformers animated roots, I figured it was even better!
Wizard Universe reports: Slated to debut with a 90-minute special in early 2008, the series will follow Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and the rest of the noble Autobots as they do giant-robot battle with Megatron and his sinister Deceptacons in near-future Detroit. The show, featuring character designs by Derrick Wyatt of “Teen Titans,” will blend classic “Transformers” characters with brand-new ’bots. Twenty-six half-hour episodes, plus the special, will make up its first season.
The style of the show is definitely more cartoony and likely a little campier than the original G1 animated series, but I dig it.
The character styles seriously lend to the movie versions of the characters, especially Bumblebee, who looks to be more the yellow Camero with a stylized head that suggests more the style of the movies as well.
Twenty-Six episodes are already on their way, so here is hoping its a good series! I am still bitter about those lame Pokemon inspired transformers I had to endure.
I am still trying to explain to my 9 year old that those are not the "real" Transformers.

It can't be worse than Robots In Disguise, can it

judging by that pic, it just doesnt feel like transformers. It feels like a show based off the transformers. It reminds me of the shortlived Godzilla cartoon (not the hannah barbara one)
