Doctor Who... So I've Been Thinking...

Category: BBC

There I was last night, longing for a Doctor Who fix, so I went back to Series One with Christopher Eccleston and was flying through the first two eps, when I heard something that gave me pause...

"I was on board another ship once. They said that was unsinkable. Ended up clinging to an iceberg."
Now of course, he didn't come right out and say it... but the implication is that The Ninth Doctor was aboard the Titanic on her fateful voyage.

Which is where the 10th Doctor has ended up at the end of Series 3...

Are we gonna see the two Doctors together on screen? Like The Five Doctors from 1983? We know it can be done, but would Chris do it? And if he would do it, is this the episode where it could happen?

I should point out that this is all just me theorizing and spit-balling, but when I heard that line, I jumped all over it. Now it may not be the Titanic that he's referring to, but what if it was?

I get that there are rules for Time-Lords about being in the same place at the same time as previous regenerations, but what if it's some kind of temporal accident or something... we don't know! I'm sure there could be a very good, and fun, scripted reason why the two Doctors could meet up on that ill-fated voyage.

So far Russell T Davis has been very attentive to the continuity being set up in the re-invented series...

Of course there's been no official word on whether they're gonna have a cross-over episode, but that could be very cool, don't you think?

Interesting... although it doesn't really have to be the 10th Doctor, it could be any of his previous incarnations. He had very recently regenerated at the start of Chris' run - so perhaps it was an earlier doctor.
How about a return for number 8?

A good point Luke. I think it would be awesome to see Chris and David together though. Still there's no peep of anything like this from the official BBC/Doctor Who camp. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
