One of the most shocking developments of Grey’s last season was the hookup of George and Izzie. Many were angry and surprised that this happened. I was surprised, but their hookup didn’t seem to come out of left field for me unlike some of the other characters (Burke and Cristina). I always wanted to see George and Izzy together because they have a fun flirty friendship. And as they say, it’s very easy for friendship to turn into love. But I understand why so many fans were angry about this new development because George and Callie are really cute. The only real question for me at the season finale was who George is going to pick. And it appears that the future is still out in the open.

Kristen from E! responds to a question asking if George and Callie are going to be together next season.

That is the question! I'm hearing this is proving quite a difficult puzzle for Shonda Rhimes, who is fully aware of the fan backlash over last season's George and Izzie (Katherine Heigl) hookup and has been doing quite a few rewrites. I'm also told that in real life, T.R. Knight is secretly pulling for a hookup with Izzie, just because he's insanely close friends with her and they get along so well.

So fans, what do you think about George and Izzy? Should he stay with Callie or be with Izzy? Which relationship do you like best?

I didn't mind George and Izzy hooking up. It seemed a natural progression, I only wish it would have happend before George got married (maybe just while engaged), so that he wouldn't be an adulterer.

Geroge and Izzy should get together now. They seem like the Rachel/Ross of the show...they'll end up together in the end.

I'm definately not surprised that it happened, just that it happened when it did. But I've also wanted it since I started watching the show, and they're cute, and in love and I would love to see more of it next season.

I totally agree with the writer. They are meant to be together and they should hook up eventually.

I love those two together. There maybe a lot of haters, but there are a lot of lovers too. We have 190 fans on Fanforum, and 383 on the George and Izzie shippers community on Livejournal (by comparison, Meredith and Derek have 244).

George and Izzie feel so natural to me, like they naturally fit together, wich surprises me as I was so against it when it happened. But TR and Katie hae such an amazing and real chemistry and connection, they made me fall head over heels with those two and now they are my favorite couple on TV.

I will be so mad if Shonda drops this storyline. George and Izzie forever!

It was a compelete surprise to me, I did not see it coming at all. Now looking back on earlier episodes it is completely obvious that it has been there from the beginning. I love George and Izzie and they need to be together in season 4. BGL forever!

I think Izzie and George are special together. The storyline itself sucked large because George, Izzie and even Callie to a lesser extent all became pretty unlikeable for different reasons. And perhaps George and Callie deserved the chance to crash and burn without Izzie's interference if their relationship was meant to end. But when it comes down to it, George and Izzie have a better relationship, would make a stronger couple and would be happier together than George and Callie, so it's not that hard to root for them to be a couple.

I love George and Izzie. To me it really was out of the blue i mean best friends always hookup on tv or in the movies (example: Dawson and Joey, Ron and Hermione.) I hope that Shonda stays true to her story and puts them together next season.

I think it only made sense for George and Izzie to hook up eventually. After all, the hints had been there pretty much from the beginning, and were gradually built up to if you were able to really see them, so I didn't find them getting together really all that shocking. Like some of you though, I do wish it'd happened before they had George marry Callie, but c'est la vie...*shrugs* So long as they build things believably from here, I'm all for it...*nods*

I had always loved Izzie and George's friendship and understanding of each other but I never thought it would develop into something more. But when it did, it made so much sense. I watched seasons 1 and 2 again and I realized that I should have seen it coming. Callie is a nice person but it is obvious that George has had and is having second thoughts about his marriage to her. Izzie has been there for him through everything, she even accepted Callie for him when she obviously had misgivings. Izzie is definately the girl for George.

I've been waiting for George and Izzie to hook up since the second episode of the series. TR Knight and Katie Heigle have fantastic chemistry, and I think the relationship between these two characters has a lot of great potential. I think they are oddly made for eachother, in a a way that's natural and special. O'Callie just seemed so forced to me.

I think George and Izzie should be together but I'm willing to wait for them. They're are so many haters so I don't think they can just have George divorce Callie and go right to Izzie. I think George should divorce Callie immeditaley! But it should be awhile before he and Izzie get together. I'm really hoping Shonda doesn't drop the storyline it woulnd't make any sense. How can they just go back to being friends after all this?

i love george and izzie together.at first it was really weird and alot of people didn't like them together but throughout season three you see that chemistry and connection that they have which callie and george definitly dont!george obviously only married callie after his fathers death to grieve or whatever.he wasnt even thinking!you can even tell that callie knows that he doesnt love her as she loves him.if shonda were to drop gizzies storyline i dont see how you can just come back to everything was before.callie and george are just not right for eachother!please keep gizzie and send callie far FAR away!!!

Not so sure there are that many haters or are they just incredibly loud. All the people I know who watch offline, about 20, love those two together.

I think they make a perfect couple, although I hate that they had to do the adulterous affair thing. George should have never married Callie. He and Izzie should just have fallen in love and they could have dealt with thinking they were best friends and then discovering they were in love.

So I hate the adulterous angle, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE George and Izzie together. They make a great couple.

I absolutely love the George/Izzie pairing. I came into season 1 a few episodes late, so I didn't realize the whole George loves Merideth thing, so I was always for George and Izzie. It's the best pairing of the show. There just seems to be more chemistry there. Can anyone say that kiss in the elevator.(drool) I'd be angry if they didn't get together. I like Callie, just not with George.

I'm very supoorting of this couple since i have been pulling for them since the pilot of the series. best friends turned lovers always blows all other romances out of the park. George and Izzie are just undeniably perfect for each other.

as for the haters, they are just extremely loud (and obnoxious) but there numbers are dwindling. they believe that the internet is th end all be all of fanbases, but i know a significant amount of grey's fans who loved george and izzie since the start, or love them now.

none of the other romantic interests for either george or izzie have been particularly impressive. its almost like they were just waiting for each other (which i believe is the case), as their chemistry and attraction is just so explosive.

this couple has to be a permanent fixture in the future of greys.

I love the idea of George and Izzie as a couple. I think they have amazing chemistry and the potential to be a truly special couple, one of the best on the show if they are given a chance to develop.

However, I HATE the adultery storyline. I hate it so much I want to take it out behind the barn and shoot it, and the last thing this show needed was another love triangle.

I'd much rather have seen George's marriage, something I thought was doomed from the beginning, crash and burn as season three went on, and then he and Izzie could begin to slowly, and I do mean slowly, realize they have feelings for each other in season four.

That would have been a much better storyline, in my opinion.

I love the George and Izzie relationship. I've been predicting this couple since the pilot episode. The actual hookup didn't surprise me at all. The circumstances definitely did though. I really wish that Shonda would have waited until the Callie and George marriage crashed and burned.

I think that Katherine and T.R. have incredible chemistry and totally sell the relationship.

I really hope that Shonda continues this relationship into season four because George and Izzie have the type of friendship that can easily turn into true love, which is where I always pictured the friendship heading.

George and Izzie deserve a happy ending. Maybe they didn't pick the right time to get together, but I believe all the hardships the two of them have faced in the last 3 seasons are proof that they belong together. Because no matter what, they were always there for each other. Even when they were fighting, they couldn't stay away from each other. People make mistakes, and marriage can be a mistake. If George is going to be man enough to admit to Callie that he made a mistake, then I think that should open a door for him and Izzie to be together. Hopefully he does this instead of continuing to run from his mistake and breaking Izzie's (and his own) heart.

At first I admit I was shocked with the whole George and Izzie thing but I immediately fell in love with it. They are my 2 favourite characters on the show so I guess that is one main reason I really enjoy them together. It is to bad they had to start realizing they had feelings for each other after the fact George was married. I hope that they keep this going. Or if they do can it for a while, bring it back eventually. George and Izzie are so cute together they are meant to be together.

I think it would be a beautiful relationship that they could have, they already know everything about each other. I hope george and Izzie become a couple next season, he cant stay with callie and be in love with another women.
