Reboot is Coming Back!

Category: Funstuff

I am reposting this from our partner site THe Movie Blog where John Campea broke this news:

Maybe it was because I've always been into anything sci-fi-ish or geeky, or maybe it was just so new, or maybe it really was just that damn awesome! For whatever reason, I LOVED ReBoot when it was on the air. There was certainly a novelty about a 3D animated show (first one of its kind... or close to it), but I liked it more for the characters, some imaginative villains (how cool was Hexadecimal!)and a rare nice ongoing story arch that you don't see much in cartoons.

Anyway, the news has come out that ReBoot is coming back as 3 full length films (probably straight to DVD, but I haven't heard anything official yet). Yahoo gives us this:

"ReBoot," one of the earliest computer-animated episodic TV series, will be redeveloped as a trilogy of feature-length films by Rainmaker Animation.

'ReBoot's' legions of fans have been incredibly loyal and continue to keep the property alive on dozens of fan sites," Gertz said. "We're very enthusiastic about how we're reconceiving this classic series by creating an innovative way for those fans -- who were kids when the series started -- to use new technology to help guide us."

My only hope is that it really is "ReBoot", and not just a different show alltogether just using the Reboot name. I can handle changes, I can handle different designs... just give me Bob, Megabyte, Dot and Matrix thrashing it up in the Mainframe and I'm happy.

I really enjoyed the first two seasons (before Enzo was 'upgraded'). I hope they keep the tone of those early episodes.
