Spoiler Alert!!!!

Entering their first year as residents, Meredith Grey, Cristina Yang, Izzie Stevens and Alex Karev now have interns of their own to mentor. Among the new interns are George, forced to repeat his internship after failing his exams, and Lexie Grey, Meredith's half-sister. Actress Chyler Leigh joins the cast as Lexie Grey.

I’m wondering what this new storyline for George is going to entail. I feel like he keeps getting put down and needs some relief. But this new role for George could really change him. He could be the guy that everyone looks up to or he could be pitied by all the other interns more. I am looking forward to seeing him grow with this new challenge.

What do you think about George taking the year over?

Do think it’ll be interesting or should he have passed the exam like all the other interns?

I am not sure. George is my favorite character and part of me wishes the show would give him a break and stop putting him through hell. But then I think this just might help George mature even more. All the challenges he has been through has just helped him be stronger and mroe mature, and at the end of the episode, he already seemed to have struck up a sort of relationship with Lexie, so maybe they can help each other through. I also wonder what it will mean for his relationships with Izzie and allie, I have a feeling Izzie will be much more understanding and helpful and as a big George and Izzie fan, that can only be good news. Whatever happens, I am sure TR will do an amazing job as always.

I really don't think he's gonna be as an intern the entire season. After all, he has already done the internship and we have seen that he's an excellent surgeon, even performing heart open surgery in an elevator. Probably they'd see that his surgery skills are better comparing with the other interns and they will find a way to make him a resident.

And I also would like George and Izzie to get together, cause I love their chemistry on and off stage.

I'm inclined to agree with Jose about him not being made to repeat the entire intern year. Figure that once he's had a little more time to prove himself, he'll get a second chance to write the test early, catching him up with the rest of the group.

Would love to see him and Lexie form a decent friendship in the meantime, and for Izzie to be there to support him all the way (and build a relationship along the way...;) ), especially since I can only imagine Callie feeling resentful about it, given that he won't be able to transfer to Mercy West now that he's failed.
