Entourage S4 E7

*SPOILER ALERT

It’s official – Ari Gold has a heart, Drama will not pass up a chance to get some booty (no matter how twisted the circumstances), and Eric might be able to get over Sloan and his history of serial monogamy.

Here’s the dirt from HBO.com:

Vince and Drama wager on the romantic prospects of Eric and Turtle. Ari tries to come to grips with the indignation of his son attending public school.
Okay, if someone had told me during Seasons 1 or 2 that a day would come where I’d see Ari honestly beg for anything, especially something for his family, I would have laughed. But it’s happened. Season 4 has really shown another side of the Hollywood uber-agent, including his inability to say no to his son. When it looked as if Jonah would be relegated to the public school system, and Ari decides he’s going to spend more time with his son to compensate for the quality of education he’d be receiving, we witness a rebirth of the character. Humility would best describe his interaction with Andrew Preston, the headmaster of the Briar Country Day School. Ari attempts to get dirt on the headmaster with the use of a private detective, a classic Ari move, a useless pursuit, because Preston is a virtuous man. When it comes right down to it, Ari’s pursuit of getting his son into private school may have started for selfish reasons, but in the end, Ari is doing it for purely selfless reasons. It’s a win/win situation in the end – Ari gets Jonah into the school, and Preston snags his son a job at the Miller Gold Agency.

Then there is the bet – Turtle versus Eric in the pursuit of a one-night stand, with a five grand wager on the table between Drama and Vinnie. Is Eric capable of such a feat? And where will Turtle find a woman that he doesn’t have to pay for? Eric hits poolside at the Mondrian Hotel with Vinnie, and Drama hits the Craigslist personals to hook Turtle up. Sloan nearly derails Eric’s successful fling with a very attractive Brit named Heather, but upon discovering that Sloan has moved on, E heads back to Heather at the Mondrian for dessert, and skips dinner altogether. Drama does find a girl on Craigslist for Turtle, but she’s what’s known as a “furry”, and wants Turtle to wear a pink bunny costume for their tryst. At one point, before Eric discovers that Sloan has a new man, Turtle thinks he’s gotten out of his furry encounter, but that changes with a phone call. But in a crazy turn of events, Turtle chickens out, and Drama decides if he’s going lose the cash, he may as well get some booty out of it, even if it means donning a pink bunny suit!

Will Turtle ever be able to meet a girl in LA that’s interested in him, and that he doesn’t have to jump through outrageous hoops for? I have to believe that somewhere in Southern California, there’s a girl just waiting to meet a guy like him. Or maybe he’ll meet someone special when they head to Cannes. He was somewhat successful at the last film fest they hit – and maybe this time, he won’t have to share with Drama. On the Eric front, is the book truly closed on Sloan, or might she re-appear before the season’s up? And now that Ari got what he wanted, will he still continue his devotion to his family, or will he go back to his self-absorbed ways? There are only 5 episodes remaining in Season 4 to see how all of this will play out.

Turtle should've won the bet. In real life, there's no way E would've gotten that hot British babe to sleep with him, cuz he's so nervous around hot women, he'd have been begging! Good on Drama to hit it in the bunny suit, though! LOL

Ari is already back to his wiley ways, but who knows where his heart and intentions lie in regards to his family (in the future, that is). I'm sure he'll always look out for them, but now that his son and daughter are at their prestigious private school, he's gonna turn back into his selfish self.

On another topic, is it me or does the Vince character seem to be taking a rear seat to a lot of the storylines lately? He's coming across as a supporting actor in the past couple episodes... Hmmmm...

I agree on Vinnie taking a back seat lately, but I really can't see that lasting too long. I knew in advance that a lot of this season would focus on Ari and his character development, so I'm not surprised by the minimal Vince storylines.

I personally would like to believe that Ari will be able to strike a balance between work and home. Yes, he'll still always be the rude, crude, looking out for number one agent, but when it comes to his family, he'll continue to do right by them, or at least feel really guilty when he doesn't.
