Torchwood: Series 1 will be released on the shores of North America January 8th, 2008.
The Brits will be getting the complete Doctor Who Series 3 (as opposed to the individual releases of two or three eps at a time) on November 27th (however the BBC Shop is listing it as November 5th.)
And if we're really lucky, TVShowsOnDVD are suggesting we might see The Doctor on the following day, November 6th.
Honey! I know what I want for Christmas :)\

Torchwood! That's great! I finally got ahold of the series. It is great television. I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing storytelling quality in most of the episodes. Though some stronger than others, every episode was excellent. My wife watched the episode with the cannibals and thought it was a movie, she couldn't believe it was a TV show. I really wish HBO or Showtime would pick it up in North America, so that we wouldn't have to wait for the DVDs.

Yeah, that episode, titled "Countrycide" was one of my favorites of the series. Thanks to watching Doctor Who and the other episodes of Torchwood you start thinking to yourself: "what kind of alien thing is wandering about the countryside doing these things?" And when it slowly dawns on you that it's people doing it, it just seemed so much scarier!
