Good news: Eureka is renewed for a third season consisting of another 13eps! Yay! Looks as though all leads are returning. Whoowhoo!
Bad news: I'll be DARNED if I can't find a link to the original press release. I've provided a link to VisitEureka.net's article. Ugh. 800 gazillion blogs and sundry internet sites have posted the entirety of the following excerpt, however, not ONE have credited it so that I can bring you a link to the original news site. Grrrr. This makes the stickler librarian in me all rumpled. If anyone has a path to the original posting, I'd sure appreciate it if you could leave it for me in the comments section. Thanks much!
Rueters/Hollywood Reporter and SCIFIwire have truncated articles that I have also linked.
"Sci Fi Press Release Announcing Renewal" : "SCI FI Channel has greenlit production on a third season of its most-watched Original Series Eureka, ordering 13 new hours of the dramedy."

COMING TUESDAY- Season 2 finale A Night At Global Dynamics
Spoilery from All that Glitters
When last we left our heroes, Allison, Beverly (fresh outta prison coveralls but with clean rumpley hair), Henry, and Master of the Uni-... I mean... Kevin, are stuck in Allison's locked-down-due-to-flesh-eating-virus office at Global.
Henry is bamboozled by rumpley Beverly into thinking that he needs to save interfaced-with- the-artifact MotUKevin from, well, everyone who isn't Henry. I still don't know what the heck Beverly wants, except that, though she claims to have some higher motivation, she's still in it for herself. Allison is all "you can't take my son!" as we would expect her to be. And Kevin, for being Master of the Universe, still seems to be rather useless.
Carter and Stark are stuck out in the foyer helpless to stop the lockdown. Sadly, I think the season 2 finale is going to hold a lot of pain and dissapointment for Jack, which he will deal with while being asked to risk his life for people that have been betraying his trust for the ENTIRE SEASON. I love Jack Carter- I love that the Powers have created in Jack a moral center for Eureka- and that's it's the moral center that saves their collective rear ends every week.
So- Jack is going to have to save Eureka from the flesh-eating-virus lest it spread to the whole town, save Allison and Henry from the virus as it is already in GD, save Henry from himself, save MotUKevin from being consumed by whatever is left of the artifact, save Stark from obsession while tolerating his arrogance, and somehow save his own psyche from being obliterated by the deception of people he calls friends. Wait- I take that back- Jack is strong and he'd never be "oblierated," but I fear that he will be changed-
Sheesh- I hope in season three they don't make Carter cynical like the rest of us.

I am glad this is renewed for a third season. The only thing I do not like about it is that it's only 13 episodes a season.
