Well, it appears that Journeyman didn’t do as well as expected last Monday.
TVSquad says:Heroes did really well too, up 10% from the same period last season. Journeyman must be a bit of a letdown for NBC, considering the Heroes lead-in. Ratings were down 26% from the Studio 60 premiere last season
I think the key thing here is that it had a lead-in of one of the best and highest rated shows on TV. Journeyman didn't have terrible ratings(3.5 share), but compared to the runaway hit of this season, Bionic Woman, it doesn't hold up. We'll have to see how it holds up in the next couple of weeks. I thought the pilot was good, but apparently it's not good enough.

The pilot tried something interesting, rather than build up to the big event it dove right in and had him time jumping in the first few minutes, It was boom, boom boom, throwing enough plot points and twists for half a season all in one hour.
I wanted to like this show, and Kevin McKidd and Reed Diamond (the lead character and his brother) are well cast good actors, but it all seemed so familiar. The sci-fi time angle has been done before - Quantum Leap and Sliders come to mind - and the whole save-the-person-in-danger-story-of-the-week is all over television. Yawn.
Maybe the series will get more inventive as it progresses. I certainly hope so.

This formula is done, and this show is going to the "dump" folder. Watching the pilot, I didn't think it fun, exciting, or remotely engaging, so I didn't even bother with episode 2...

My wife and I really enjoy Journeyman. It's a great concept and we wait with great anticipation to see how the story will unfold. We think there are two problems. 1) It is number 3 in the show line-up and people just have to change stations just to change it or stop watching TV all together. 2) We really like the main actor but it takes a couple of episodes for him to grow on you. He is not the typical charismatic "everyman" that so many shows always cast. Kudos to NBC for taking a chance on Kevin McKidd.

I haven't been hooked on any show on tv in many years. Then Journeyman came along. Now I can't wait for Monday nights to come around so I can watch the next episode. I really like that Journeyman has the perfect balance of action, drama, suspense, and comedy. I just hope that it's ratings pick up. I don't want to see such a good show with alot of promise be cancelled.

I too look forward to the Journeyman episodes. They're developing the "plot" with new information at a steady and patient pace. I've always enjoyed time-travel movies / series. I hope the program doesn't get dropped prematurely (comment based on initial ratings at start of season).

What I am enjoying most about Journeyman is that his jumps have consequences.
Unlike Sliders and Quantum Leap, his trips have lead him to the attention of some very unpleasant people. They have stressed his family and threatened his job. Actions have consequences, and too few time travel shows seem to realize that.
In addition, I like the episodic nature, offering an over-arching plot arc. There are too few shows that offer a long term perspective.
I am sad to see the poor reviews, as it seems a thoughtfully written series, and one I look forward to every week.

I started watching this show because of the time travel aspect and agree that it does mirror past shows like Quantum Leap in many ways. But while the "save the person in trouble" premise isn't new, in the case of Journeyman, I'm glad to see it isn't the only storyline within the show.
The story lines concerning the main character and his life in the present is, in my opinion, the better part of the show and keeps me wanting the next installment to hurry up and air.
I will be sadly disappointed if this show doesn't make it a 2nd year.

I love the show! I think it's well executed and well acted and just fun. I think the concept is great. Who wouldn't want to be able to go back and help fix things?

This show is so much better than Quantum Leap or Sliders. Those were fun at the time; but they involved such silly mechanisms to do what was done. If time travel actually can happen, I think Journeyman is much closer to the way it would be. In addition, I see Journeyman as being potentially as much about alternate realities as time travel; and I believe there is a big distinction. At any rate, I love the show; and I am able to suspend my disbelief much more readily with Journeyman than with previous shows of it's type. I have always been interested in Quantum Physics; and Journeyman fills me with thoughts and considerations I have not had before.

I really like Journeyman but I think part of the problem is that its on too late. I have a job and have to get up in the morning - can't stay up til 11 pm watching TV, so I DVR it.. Move it earlier in the evening, and it will do better! I really like the show. i can't wait to see the story line with Olivia develop more and the relationship w/the 2 brothers.

Bionic Woman is the run away hit of the season? That is just sad. Journeyman is an excellent show that I thoroughly enjoy.

I love Journeyman, and I think it's getting better with each episode. Those who didn't like the pilot need to stick it out a couple more episodes. It is an excellent concept with many plot twists and new answers every week.

I think Journeyman also has a strong romantic component. If they reran it during the day, I think they'd bring in older women.

Bionic Woman the run away hit of the season? Journeyman getting low ratings? Doesn't that seem backwards?
Bionic Woman is shit. Journeyman is actually interesting.

Journeyman is my favorite new show of the year and I have checked all the new ones out. Though it may have some similarities to Quantum leap, Sliders and even Star-Gate, it is so much more. You really have to pay attention while watching this show as it is so deep it blows my mind! In my opinion there are very few shows that are this intense and it stands up to Prison Break, Heroes and Lost!
Journeyman makes you feel a real connection with its main characters and though it may at first be a little confusing at first, it will always make sense before the end. I love the role Livia plays in the show (she is the girl that always meets up with Dan in his travels) and in each episode you learn a little more about her and the significant role she plays in Dan’s travels
Most importantly there are many life lessons learned in this show, as you find when you try to change your destiny or the destiny of others, a chain reaction of events most always occurs.
The relationship Dan has with his bother is frustrating for the first 10 episodes, but finally he believes in Dan as the events prove Dan’s time travels are for real. You have to give his wife Katie credit, she always stands by his side even though he disappears from hers at the most inappropriate times (unintentionally of course). This show is so well done, it is almost believable and I so passionate about it.
I love this show and give it a 10/10

I think Journeyman is a great show! The first couple of shows started off kind of slow and had that "What are they trying to do feeling to it" but once you get 3 or 4 episodes into it and they start doing a little character development it quickly becomes great. I just really hope there will be a second season or a continuation to the 13 episodes that will air (fingers crossed).
