It pains me to read about some of the truly great shows on TV that may not be around past this season due to difficulty achieving the kind of ratings it takes to succeed in this day and age of broadcast television. However, this is not a problem I’m charged with the way NCIS has taken to blowing the doors off its competition this season.
From the Hollywood Reporter:The fifth season must be the charm for "NCIS," which racked up its second-largest-ever audience Tuesday night. The CBS crime drama starring Mark Harmon even surpassed Fox's heavy hitter "House" in viewership though not in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates released Wednesday by Nielsen Media Research.
Despite my worst fears early in the season, NCIS is firing on all cylinders as the writers and producers have nailed the very best part of the show and its characters and delivered consistent, emotional and action oriented TV. Folks, it really doesn’t get much better than this. NCIS airs Tuesdays at 8pm on CBS.
